WHAT TYPES OF FILMS DOES THE SPARK OF MADNESS FILM FESTIVAL ACCEPT?
The film must have been completed in the last two years. We want to see crazy stuff. Unconventional Dramas (Tree Of Life), Weird comedies (Nacho Libre), Absurd horror movies (Evil Dead II, Weapons), Docs about the surreal (Virunga) or about eccentrics (American Movie, Loving Vincent), Misfit music videos (Turn Down For What), and Abnormal animations (Howl’s, Flow). Films that celebrate creativity. Films that embolden the bizarre. Films with a Spark Of Madness.
WHO CAN SUBMIT A FILM?
Anyone! As long as they have the rights to the film being submitted.
HOW DO I SUBMIT MY FILM?
You’ll submit your film through FilmFreeway with any of the submit buttons or with the link right here.
IS THERE A SUBMISSION FEE?
There are submission fees depending on dates and categories. We you can submit your films on FilmFreeway.com
WHEN AND WHERE IS THE FESTIVAL HELD?
May 21st – May 23rd of 2026.
Showings are located at the Bengal Theater, inside the ISU Student Union Building. 14 E Humbolt St, Pocatello, ID 83201
ARE THERE AWARDS AND PRIZES?
Yes, the awards will be determined annually depending on submissions. Some examples of awards include: Best Narrative Feature, Best Narrative Short, Best Doc.
